잔을 살짝 흔든 뒤 향을 맡으면 브라운 슈거와 볶은 아몬드가 먼저 다가온다. 다시 코를 대면 그을린 오크와 옅은 체리가 층을 이루며 겹친다. 한 모금 머금으면 캐러멜이 입천장을 덮고 정향이 뒤늦게 밀려온다. 삼킨 자리에는 담배와 마른 나무가 오래 남아 식는다. 1999년에 증류된 원액의 성격이 처음부터 분명하게 드러난다.
