Tasting Notes
바람이 거센 오크니 제도의 하이랜드파크는 히스가 섞인 이탄으로 위스키에 특유의 꽃향과 훈연을 새긴다. 셰리 오크에서 18년을 보낸 이 위스키는 맑은 금빛을 낸다. 향은 히스 꿀과 말린 무화과, 대추야자에 오렌지 꽃과 정원 흙내가 어우러지고, 입에서는 마른 과일과 허브 시럽, 꿀이 그을린 나무를 배경으로 흐른다. 여운은 조금 거칠고 풀내 어린 향을 우아하게 남기며 이어진다.

so typically HP! There’s that heather honey that wasn’t quite to be found in the 15 and Valkyrie, more roundness, more dried fruits (figs, dates, pears, raisins) and earth rather than smoke. Orange blossom, dandelions, honeysuckle, and some nice whiffs of humus and garden peat. In short his baby’s more refined, and perhaps more civilised. Not quite Viking stuff this time, if you like
restaurant Palate
indeed, a different world. Superb dried fruits mingled with some herbal syrup (Chartreuse, genepy, eucalyptus) and the expected honey, with a feeling of charred wood in the background. Rather a gentleman’s HP, if you will

medium, a tad rougher and grassier, but still quite wonderful. Ah our good old HP 18!…
