잔을 가볍게 돌리면 옅은 황금빛이 잔 벽을 따라 가볍게 흘러내린다. 코를 가까이 가져가면 소독약 같은 피트 연기와 요오드, 짭조름한 바닷바람이 솟아오른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 59.8도의 도수가 혀를 또렷이 자극하며 그을린 오크와 훈연한 보리, 레몬의 산미가 번진다. 엑스버번에서 12년을 보낸 라프로익은 아일라 남부 증류소다운 약품 같은 피트와 바다의 짠기를 거침없이 드러낸다. 삼키고 나면 진한 훈연과 소금기가 길게 남는다.

sweet, creamy, much rounder and fuller than the 1997s although the pat is heavy. Touches of burnt cake as well and something slightly disturbing, a tad ‘chemical’ for lack of a better term. I had two samples and checked both, same results
