Tasting Notes
Colour
straw
air Nose
extremely smoky, and not only on peat smoke. Lots of grapefruit juice, getting very rubbery (brand new tyre). It then develops on lots of tropical fruits such as passion fruit, guava, mango… Really big and powerful, yet perfectly balanced. Fantastic
restaurant Palate
again, big, bold and superbly balanced. Lots of spearmint, smoke, lemon and all sorts of tropical fruits, with an endless finish. A stunning whisky, perhaps the best of all the Laphroaig C/S I ever had, although all versions have been great, including the latest ‘green stripe’. Worth buying by the case, considering the price. 94 points . Laphroaig 13 yo 1991/2005 (55.8%, Scotch Malt Whisky Society, 29.43)
