노즈에서는 라프로익다운 강건한 피트 연기와 요오드, 소독약 같은 향이 가장 먼저 두드러지고 리필 셰리에서 온 건과일과 가죽이 그 아래 받친다. 20년 숙성의 팰럿은 진한 훈연과 말린 자두, 다크초콜릿이 만나 짭짤하면서도 단단한 구조감을 보인다. 59.1도의 높은 도수가 연기와 셰리의 단맛을 강하게 끌어올려 입 안을 가득 채운다. 피니시는 재와 가죽, 쌉쌀한 카카오로 아주 길게 이어지며, 1990년 빈티지 라프로익이 지닌 셰리와 강렬한 피트의 묵직한 조화가 분명하게 정리된다.

let us not deny that this nose strikes fast and hard, compact and immensely medicinal and smoky, which cannot fail to delight us. Quite a bit of charcoal smoke and firwood ash. With water: almost feels like peated malt trying to mimic Laphroaig, as we do find the usual suspects front and centre, iodine, ash, cough syrup, smoke, firwood

ultra-massive. No room for finesse here, especially with that heavy oak presence, though it all works rather well in this beefy style, which could very well pair with surströmming. Well, I suppose so, never having tried it (please don’t). With water: a rather massive, lemony and resinous woodiness takes over proceedings
