아일라 남부의 짭조름한 바닷바람과 이탄지의 짙은 안개가 라프로익 1988의 캐릭터를 처음부터 끝까지 관통한다. 옅은 황금빛 너머로 약품 같은 페놀과 해초, 절제된 훈연 향이 인사한다. 25년이 만든 부드러운 페놀과 미네랄의 단맛이 또렷이 깃들어 있고, 40도 알코올은 잔잔히 가라앉은 균형감을 길게 끌어낸다. 머레이 맥데이비드 보틀링의 절제가 여운에 남는다.

light, but not unpleasant. It really is all on lapsang souchong tea, actually, a feeling that may come from some oak spices that did not have enough time to properly mingle with the distillate. The fact is that I really enjoy good lapsang souchong (which makes my tea loving friends cringe, them who claim that there cannot be any good lapsang souchong – is that true?) After ten minutes of breathing, some pineapple and coconut. What?
