잔을 가볍게 흔들면 깊은 황금빛이 잔 벽을 두껍게 따라 흐른다. 코를 가까이 가져가면 라프로익 1979가 17년의 시간 속에서 풀어낸 묵직한 피트 연기와 요오드 향이 가장 먼저 인사한다. 한 모금을 머금으면 아일라 특유의 강렬한 훈연과 짠 미네랄이 53.5도의 알코올과 함께 입천장을 강하게 채운다. 잔이 따뜻해지면 17년이 빚어낸 강렬한 훈연이 한층 차분하게 가라앉는다. 천천히 삼키면 부드러워진 의약품 향과 매콤한 후추가 길게 따라간다.

sweet and lemony attack, rounder than expected, sort of closer to a young Ardbeg than to a Laphroaig. Ripe apples with a little pepper. Improves after a while, the peat managing to overwhelm the sweetness. Still a bit simple
