노즈에서는 라프로익 1997이 아일라 남부 특유의 강한 토탄 연기와 요오드, 옅은 바닐라의 향을 또렷하게 드러낸다. 버번 배럴이 18년의 시간 동안 스모키함에 부드러운 단맛을 더했다. 입에서는 짙은 훈연과 시트러스, 소금기가 52.2도의 도수를 타고 강하게 발전한다. 라프로익다운 강건하고 약 같은 개성이 또렷하며 구조감이 단단하다. 피니시는 재와 후추, 오크의 쌉쌀함이 길고 강렬하게 이어진다.
