노즈에서는 라프로익의 다른 이름인 윌리엄슨답게 소독약 같은 요오드와 광물성, 켈프 향이 가장 먼저 두드러지고, 버번 배럴이 오크를 절제해 아일라의 날것 같은 훈연이 선명하게 드러난다. 팰럿은 57.6도로 레몬과 자몽, 백후추와 랍상소총 같은 훈제차가 두꺼운 질감으로 흐른다. 피니시는 길고 드라이하며 톱밥과 훈연이 마르면서 남는다. 15년 캐스크 스트렝스로 라프로익 특유의 소독약 같은 개성과 구조감이 또렷한 보틀링이다.

it’s a bit the Select at cask strength, really. Perhaps a little more medicinal and mineral? More mercurochrome? It’s not quite a nosing whisky, having said that, so quick… With water: not the Select. More antiseptic, mercurochrome, kelp, old woollen jackets, kiln aromas… That’s all nice, I have to say, simple and pure. Were the quarter casks (which are half the size by the way, not quarters) refill?
