Tasting Notes
노즈는 라프로익 캐스크 스트렝스의 강렬한 소독약 같은 피트로 시작한다. 엑스버번 배럴 10년 숙성답게 바나나 껍질과 레몬 뒤로 병원 냄새와 짙은 재가 겹겹이 발전한다. 팰럿은 58.6도의 힘을 앞세워 풀내음 어린 피트와 소금, 자몽, 후추가 강하게 밀려오며 타르 같은 재가 중심을 잡는다. 아일라 남부 증류소다운 거침없는 구조감이 그대로 드러난다. 피니시는 길고 재와 소금기가 이어지다 끝에 옅은 망고가 스친다. 물을 더하면 잿내와 소금기가 한층 짙어지는, 배치 14로 병입한 정통 라프로익이다.

no tropical fruits that I can detect, only banana skins. But the lemons and the peat in the bottom start rising and bring litres of antiseptic with them. Tell me about a medicinal whisky! With water: some oils (sunflower) and some malted barley, with those huge ashes coming out again

well, this is excellent. No subtleties but that's not why we came here. Big grassier peat, salt, grapefruits, mouthwash, pepper, and of course tarry ashes. I'm starting to believe they have a kiln not for malting barley, but for producing ashes! With water: ashes up up up, plus a little brine. We've lost the fruits

long, ashy, and salty. Only in the aftertaste do we find a wee bit of 'avion' mango
