잔을 기울여 흔들면 아일라 라프로익이 버번 배럴에서 10년을 지낸 짙은 금빛이 유리를 타고 흐른다. 코를 잔 안쪽으로 넣으면 라프로익다운 시가 재와 요오드, 마른 해초와 옅은 바닐라 향이 강하게 밀려온다. 한 모금을 입에 머금으면 57.9도의 힘이 끈적한 이탄 단맛과 훈제 생선, 검은 올리브로 입을 덮는다. 삼키고 나면 재와 후추, 소금기 어린 약재 풍미가 강렬하게 감돈다.
