아일라의 거장 라프로익이 서른 해를 채운 이 위스키는 아메리칸 오크와 유러피언 셰리 오크가 다듬은 깊은 황금빛을 잔에 드리운다. 오랜 숙성이 누그러뜨린 향은 부드러운 훈연과 바닷소금, 잘 익은 무화과가 우아하게 어우러진다. 43도의 입안은 꿀과 가죽, 옅은 요오드의 피트가 미끄러지듯 흐른다. 세월이 둥글린 약품 향이 품위 있게 가라앉고, 길고 그윽한 연기가 여운으로 남는다.

there are many various flavours you can say about these older Laphroaigs, but - as with something like Pinot Noir - sometimes it's easier just to say: 'Old Laphroaig'! An extraordinary and perfectly integrated display of tropical fruits combined with very gentle medicinal aromas and the most gorgeous and elegant, drying peat smoke. You could add smoked teas, grapefruit peel, a few iodine drops and these wonderful, subtle notes of waxed hessian and camphor

the sherry in this batch is stunning and very obvious here, hugely rich, waxy, fruity and with some darker fruit notes such as sultana and fig coming off the back of the sherry, which is also stunningly resinous, earthy and salty with some beautiful tobacco notes too. Perfectly engaging and mouth-filling at 43%, treads a perfect tightrope between power and grace
