짙은 마호가니빛이 잔에 두툼하게 흐르며 묵직한 윤을 남긴다. 1974년 라프로익이 셰리 캐스크에서 31년의 침잠을 거쳐 라 메종 뒤 위스키의 손으로 풀려난 이 보틀링은 짙은 피트 연기와 그을린 해초, 농밀한 건자두와 묵은 가죽의 향이 한꺼번에 솟구친다. 한 모금에 49.7도의 둥근 알코올이 흑설탕 토피와 다크 초콜릿, 짠 미네랄의 깊은 단맛을 두텁게 끌어온다. 아일라 황금기의 잔향이 깊고 짙게 식어간다.

epitomical dry leathery, earthy sherry. It’s the balance that’s impressive. And the menthol, cough syrup, chestnuts, gewürztraminer TBA (totally botrytis affected, not Trockenbeerenauslese ;-)), blackberry jelly… and such and such and such. With water: earth, ashes, smoke, black chocolate
