16년의 숙성이 이 라프로익의 강한 피트를 한결 곱고 부드럽게 다듬었다. 오랜 통숙성이 남긴 향은 옅은 훈연과 자몽, 요오드, 바닷바람을 겹쳐 놓는다. 43도의 도수는 입안에서 매캐한 그을음과 자몽, 소금기, 은은한 망고잼의 단맛을 편다. 아일라 남부 몰트답게 소독약 같은 개성이 절제된 채 흐른다. 긴 숙성이 어린 시절의 사나운 피트를 한결 얌전하게 눌러 주었다. 긴 숙성이 자몽의 산뜻함을 훈연 사이로 곱게 풀어낸다. 절제된 힘 속에서도 라프로익의 개성은 또렷이 살아 있다. 황금빛 여운은 오크와 옅은 훈연이 짧지만 또렷하게 남는다.

indeed, it whispers a bit low, but on the other hand, I find it very Laphroaig, in all simplicity. Acrid smokiness, grapefruits, a touch of salt, a little iodine, salt… It’s good, it’s just a little frustrating. Nice mango jam
