짙은 앰버가 잔 안쪽에서 묵직한 윤기를 낸다. 향은 당밀과 구운 피칸으로 열리고 정향이 그 틈을 파고든다. 1997년 원액이 새 차링 오크 배럴에서 18년을 견딘 흔적은 입에서 두꺼운 단맛과 마른 나무의 대비로 드러난다. 45도라는 도수는 이 대비를 흐리지 않을 만큼만 힘을 준다. 2015년에 병입된 이 위스키의 여운은 담뱃잎과 다크 캐러멜로 서서히 식는다.
