잔을 코끝에 가져가면 1969년산 보모어가 만든 트로피컬 과일 향이 가장 먼저 떠오른다. 망고와 패션프루트, 옅은 피트 스모크가 동시에 잔 안에 잠겨 있다. 한 모금을 머금으면 50년이 만든 무게가 혀를 부드럽게 누른다. 셰리 캐스크의 건자두 단맛과 오래된 가죽, 옅은 바닷내가 차례로 따라온다. 삼킨 뒤에는 시간이 만든 깊은 우드 노트와 옅은 스모크가 길게 이어진다.

forget it, this is just going to hurt. Pink grapefruit, delicate oils and waxes, a tidal wave of maritime elements—you get the idea. Really, it’s a whole, seamless entity, defying decomposition into individual descriptors. With water: a sort of oily tension dominates here, in the best possible way. If I were to show off (again, S.), I’d liken it to the engine oil of Ayrton Senna’s McLaren after 300km of fierce battle with Prost’s

absolutely outrageous. Salinity turned up to 11, alongside oils, waxes, citrus galore… With water: quintessential Bowmore. Salty, waxy, brimming with fermented fruits, citrus, seaweed, aged tar, and long-forgotten medicinal liqueurs
