Tasting Notes
금빛이 도는 짙은 호박색이 잔에 어린다. 아일라 보모어가 스패니시 오크 셰리와 호그스헤드를 거쳐 40도로 담은 애스턴 마틴 다크 앤 인텐스다. 코에는 호두 와인과 오래된 가죽, 블러드 오렌지와 랍상소총차의 훈연이 겹쳐 오른다. 뒤이어 타마린드 잼과 옅은 기름내가 층층이 드러난다. 입에서는 짭조름한 도입 뒤로 호두와 자몽, 초콜릿을 두른 오렌지 껍질이 번진다. 40도의 낮은 도수가 가죽 같은 스모크를 유순하게 다듬는다. 여운은 짧게 스치며 토피의 단맛만 은근히 남는다.

some walnut wine at first, plus horse saddle and old leather jacket, tamarind jam, marmalade, a little spent engine oil (and voilà), then ras-el-hanout and a little ginger tonic. Blood oranges. This rather leathery smoke works well I have to say, even at 40% vol. There's also the obligatory lapsang souchong and cocoa
restaurant Palate
nice salty arrival, with lots and lots of walnuts and a cup of oversteeped lapsang souchong. Some grapefruit then, chicken bouillon, orange zests dipped into chocolate (orangettes), smoked oysters… All nice, the problem is that it would tend to nosedive after ten seconds, and that's strictly because of the minimal strength. An Aston Martin with an empty petrol tank (which is not an unseen situation)
