Tasting Notes
잔을 천천히 돌리면 깊은 호박빛이 잔 안에서 묵직하게 일렁인다. 코를 가까이 대면 발베니 특유의 벌꿀과 잘 익은 사과, 오래된 오크의 향긋한 먼지가 차례로 피어오른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 1966년 증류해 32년을 채운 시간이 부드러운 캐러멜과 말린 살구로 혀 위에 퍼지고, 42.6도의 낮은 도수가 비단처럼 매끄럽게 흐른다. 넘긴 뒤에는 따뜻한 꿀과 오크 향이 잔잔하게 잠겨 있다.

very, very bizarre... Lots of old books, wet newspaper, warm candle wax... and also lettuce, cabbage, asparagus... Very, very funny and unlike any other whisky I could try up to now. Good oakiness, ginger... Interesting
restaurant Palate
really punchy, fruity, kirschy, tasting like American rye, with good oak and good balance. I like this one’s straightforwardness (or should I say candour?) The oak is a bit dominant after a moment but nothing really excessive
timer Finish
long, on plum spirit and oak plus ginger and a little horseradish, still with good balance. Good ‘foreign’ whisky, not trying to mimic Scotch, really well made I’d say. Congrats Austria! 78 points.
