air Nose

very, very ‘Balvenie’ and that’s great news. An avalanche of honeys, melliferous flowers and juicy ripe plums and apricots. Dandelions, orange blossom… Also touches of toasted brioche and hot croissants, then a little more leather and Virginia tobacco. Beautiful nose

restaurant Palate

rich, creamy and certainly quite oaky. Oakier than what the nose suggested in any case. Unsweetened tea, cloves, then more vanilla and citrons, then a little cranberry (drops), possibly from the sherry. It’s rather less luscious than other old Balvenies in my opinion

timer Finish

long, still oaky and slightly drying
