노즈에서는 1978년 증류된 올드 분나하벤 특유의 견과 향과 옅은 바다 내음이 먼저 드러나고, 리필 셰리 호그스헤드에서 온 건포도와 무화과 향이 명확하게 뒤따른다. 팰럿은 53.8도의 도수를 타고 흑설탕과 호두, 오렌지의 단맛이 선명하게 발전하며 30년 숙성이 더한 깊은 질감이 입을 채운다. 피니시는 길게 이어지며 셰리 향신료와 소금기, 가죽의 여운이 남는다. 더 보틀러스가 병입한 아일라 비피티드 몰트로, 세월이 만든 구조가 또렷하다.

a punchier version of the 1979, with a little more candied fruits (pineapple drops) and rather less herbs and almond. Other than that, we’re in the very same league so far. With water: indeed. It’s just a little fruitier, more on pineapple and orange. A little more smoke as well

big, a little spirity, much rougher than the 1979 and a little bubblegummy as well. With water: exactly the same whisky as the SMOS
