this one is a much rougher and rawer version of Bunnahabhain, quite different from earlier distillates. We’re much more on butter, fermenting hay, overripe apples, green tea and lemon balm. It’s not that it isn’t nice whisky, but the others were clearly in a different category as far as I can tell. With water: no luck

once again, this is so much simpler than all the other ones. Grainy, grassy, flinty… It’s not bad of course, it’s just very simple without the ‘explosive temperament’ that the 1970 had. With water: gets cardboardy
