Tasting Notes
잔을 흔들면 옅은 호박빛이 얇게 돌고 코를 가져가면 셰리 오크의 단내보다 농가를 떠올리게 하는 거친 향이 먼저 나온다. 마분지 같은 마른 기운이 섞이는데 이 결이 오히려 입체감을 더한다. 한 모금 머금으면 43도의 몸이 두꺼운 질감으로 흐르며 건포도와 옅은 가죽이 얹히지만 윤곽이 아주 또렷하지는 않다. 열여덟 해를 보낸 1989년 증류액다운 중간 지점의 성격이다. 삼키면 감초가 뚜렷하게 올라와 마무리를 잡는다.

much closer to the 1976, much less sherried than the 1983, with also farmier, wilder notes but also something slightly dirty and cardboardy. Don’t get me wrong, these notes that are usually bad news bring an extra-dimension to the malt. A Mac 18 that’s much less ‘de salon’ and much more from the countryside
restaurant Palate
kind of a mixture of both the 1976 and the 1983, but it’s maybe a tad too simple. Fresher than the 1983, more sherried and ‘thicker’ than the 1976, but maybe lacking definition. Especially the finish is a bit indefinite I think, even if there’s quite some liquorice this time. At the crossroads? 86 points. Macallan 18 yo 1989/2007 ‘sherry’(43%, OB)
