Tasting Notes
호박빛이 잔 속에 은은하게 번진다. 1997년 원액이 호그스헤드에서 12년을 보낸 뒤 43도로 병입된 빈티지 컬렉션의 한 병이다. 향은 말린 자두와 초콜릿의 어두운 단맛에서 시작해 오래된 종이와 마른 먼지 같은 서늘한 기운이 뒤를 잇는다. 입안에서는 자두와 코코아가 다시 자리를 잡고 붉은 베리의 잼 같은 단맛이 짧게 스친다. 여운은 길지 않으며 붉은 오렌지의 쌉쌀함으로 마무리된다.

what’s a little tricky is not to take OBE into account. For example, do these very big, very obvious notes of watercress come from bottle ageing or not? Other that that, we have bags of prunes and chocolate, well in the ‘full oloroso’ style of the time, but then more and more dust and old papers. Old bookstore, a few dried porcinis, quite some coal smoke and then the chocolate is back, together with more cut grass. Very fine nose but it’s quite dry despite some touches of rum that do emerge after a while

nah, it’s not its best side. The prunes and chocolate are back – big time – but it’s also a little too grapey, almost armagnacqy, and tends to fall apart after a few seconds. Some strawberry jam

shortish, with more blood oranges. A little quinine in the aftertaste
