Tasting Notes
코끝에 잔을 가져가기 전에 손바닥으로 잔을 감싸 온도를 올리면 향이 훨씬 빨리 열린다. 신 과일과 구운 오크가 먼저 나오고 피칸 파이와 타르트 타탱의 단내가 뒤를 잇는다. 한 모금을 머금고 혀 양옆으로 굴리면 볶은 견과와 몰트, 케이크 반죽의 단맛이 순서대로 나타난다. 삼키면 쌉쌀한 마멀레이드가 뒤를 정리하고 달큰한 셰리가 견과의 고소함과 함께 남는다. 1990년 증류액을 13년 묵힌 이 보틀링은 43도에 걸맞은 절제된 마무리를 보여준다.

ah? It’s lost a bit of lustre, apparently, I find it much simpler, with sour fruits and some rather ‘obvious’ praline and toasted oak. A feeling of burnt chocolate cake and corn syrup. The pecan pie and the tarte tatin are nicer, though, really curious about the palate now…

yes this is good, it’s probably the closest you can get to the older Macallan spirit, even if it’s relatively simple, and not as ‘whirling around’ as its earlier inception. Cakes, roasted nuts, malt, praline, spicy cake, bitter marmalade. Good body, the lower strength doesn’t quite feel
