Tasting Notes
잔을 천천히 돌리면 금빛 액체가 유리 벽을 타고 느리게 내려온다. 코를 가져가면 시큼한 과일과 프랄린이 먼저 오르고 토스트한 오크와 태운 초콜릿 케이크가 뒤따른다. 한 모금 머금으면 구운 견과와 몰트, 쌉쌀한 마멀레이드가 차례로 지나가며 43도라는 낮은 도수에도 바디가 흔들리지 않는다. 삼킨 뒤에는 고소한 견과와 달큰한 셰리가 중간 길이로 남는다. 1990년 증류해 1999년에 담은 시그나토리 밀레니엄 에디션의 성격이 그대로 읽힌다.

ah? It’s lost a bit of lustre, apparently, I find it much simpler, with sour fruits and some rather ‘obvious’ praline and toasted oak. A feeling of burnt chocolate cake and corn syrup. The pecan pie and the tarte tatin are nicer, though, really curious about the palate now…

yes this is good, it’s probably the closest you can get to the older Macallan spirit, even if it’s relatively simple, and not as ‘whirling around’ as its earlier inception. Cakes, roasted nuts, malt, praline, spicy cake, bitter marmalade. Good body, the lower strength doesn’t quite feel
