Tasting Notes
호박빛이 잔 안에 진하게 어린다. 향은 향나무와 유향, 장미를 떠올리게 할 만큼 향기롭고 그 뒤로 시가와 말린 무화과, 건포도가 이어진다. 숯과 나무 연기, 다크초콜릿의 쓴맛이 배경을 채운다. 입에서는 45도가 곧게 서며 포도씨의 떫음과 절인 생강의 날 선 기운이 먼저 오고 건포도의 단맛이 뒤늦게 자리를 찾는다. 셰리 우드에서 1980년부터 2001년까지 보낸 시간은 달콤함보다 향의 결을 남겼다. 여운은 길고 포도 껍질처럼 거칠다.

it’s a cleaner, less meaty version of the Gran Reserva, but it’s just as fragrant and almost perfumy. This time it’s more sandalwood and incense, maybe roses, then cigars and the usual dried fruits, figs, raisins… There’s also some charcoal, wood smoke, then more bitter chocolate, dried porcinis... I have to say I like this nose
restaurant Palate
I think it is struggling a bit after the Gran Reserva. There’s a bitterish, greenish astringency that makes it a little hard. Grape pips, chlorophyll, pickled ginger… But there are also much nicer sides, of course, the raisins, the figs… I also find a little gunpowder and tar
timer Finish
long but very grapey, acrid, kind of raspy. A one month old Pauillac ;-)
