Tasting Notes
잔을 살짝 기울이면 깊은 호박빛이 잔 안에 부드럽게 비친다. 코를 가까이 가져가면 맥캘란 1968이 아메리칸 오크에서 34년을 보낸 시간이 풀어낸 잘 익은 사과와 캐러멜 향이 먼저 인사한다. 한 모금을 머금으면 스페이사이드의 부드러운 곡물 단맛과 바닐라 커스터드가 천천히 입천장을 덮는다. 잔이 따뜻해지면 34년이 빚어낸 곡물 단맛이 한층 부드럽게 펼쳐진다. 40.2도를 삼키면 가벼운 오크 스파이스와 말린 살구가 길게 이어진다.

definitely drier, much less on dried fruits, more herbal, with notes of hay and cut grass, some nuts, though we’re not really finding any of that ‘peat’ character you sometimes get in immediate post-war Macallans. Still, there’s a lovely beeswax note

I’m 100% certain there’s been some positive OBE. It’s certainly dry and fragile, even slightly cardboardy, but we’re far from the near disaster we noted back in the day. Chamomile tea, cake crumbs, and some rather pretty wax
