엑스버번 캐스크에서 열일곱 해를 보낸 원액은 잔에 가득한 황금빛을 지녔다. 향은 꿀과 바닐라가 먼저 열리고 세비야 오렌지와 다크초콜릿이 뒤따르며 연필을 깎을 때 나는 마른 나무 냄새가 배경에 깔린다. 46도의 입맛은 맥아의 든든함 위에 설탕에 절인 오렌지와 얼그레이가 얹히고 생강과 육두구가 차례로 일어난다. 맥닐스 초이스가 고른 1988년은 몸집이 좋고 질감이 매끄러우며, 계피의 마른 감각과 오렌지 마멀레이드의 여운을 함께 남긴다.

rather big ‘modern’ oak but not only that, also quite some richness, with notes of sherry, Seville oranges, chocolate and honey, with some gunpowder in the background, pencil shavings. Rather playful

rich, malty, with good sherry. Honey, crystallised oranges, earl grey, then the oak’s spiciness (the infernal trilogy ginger-cinnamon-nutmeg) and quite some vanilla. Good body, good mouth feel
timer Finish
rather long, a tad more drying (more cinnamon) but also quite sweet, on peppered orange marmalade
