코끝으로 가져가기 전에 잔을 한 번 크게 돌리면 진한 코코아 향이 먼저 잔 밖으로 새어 나온다. 코를 대면 초콜릿 위로 사과 주스의 산미가 얇게 얹힌다. 한 모금 머금으면 40.4도가 부담 없이 흘러 건포도와 여러 겹의 꿀, 오래된 디저트 와인이 이어진다. 천천히 삼키면 가나슈의 쌉쌀한 단맛이 입천장을 덮고 오래 남는다. 38년을 오크 캐스크에서 보낸 1969년 스피릿의 무게가 그대로 느껴진다.

all right, this is very good and the lousy low strength doesn't even feel. Typical Macallan 'body'. Mead, raisins, honeys, flowery teas, spicy cake (Stolle), old desert wine, mullein syrup, quince jelly… I really enjoy this and at 40.8%, you can drink a lot of it.
