Tasting Notes
잔을 흔들자마자 앰버빛 액체가 벽을 두껍게 감싸며 내려온다. 코를 묻으면 오렌지 꽃과 모과 젤리, 황금빛 건포도가 밀려오고 그 아래 파이프 담배와 젖은 흙, 오래된 책 냄새가 겹쳐 예전 매캘런의 결을 그대로 보여 준다. 한 모금 머금으면 크리스마스 케이크를 한 입 베어 문 듯 말린 과일과 초콜릿, 마지팬이 한꺼번에 터진다. 삼킨 뒤 잼 같은 질감이 입천장을 덮고 향신료가 뒤를 정리한다.

oh my! Let’s keep this short. Sumptuous sherry, rich, fragrant… Orange blossom, quince jelly, sultanas, old Sauternes, cured ham, pipe tobacco, wet earth, old books, various herbal teas, toffee and spearmint. Utterly fabulous nose, the style that defined ‘The Macallan’ as it used to be

glorious attack, just like if you bit into a slice of Christmas cake (or Alsatian berawecka). Thousands of dried fruits, chocolate, marzipan, jams, soft spices, old cognac (eh?)… and an avalanche of tinier flavours of the ‘chocolate-coffee’ universe. Brilliant

long, coating, creamy and jammy but not heavy, mainly thanks to the fairly spicy aftertaste
