잔을 천천히 돌리면 1974년 증류한 맥캘란 21년이 셰리우드에서 얻은 짙은 적갈색을 잔 벽에 끈적하게 그려낸다. 코를 가져가면 말린 오렌지 껍질과 흑설탕, 오래된 마호가니 가구 같은 묵은 향이 진하게 올라온다. 한 모금 머금으면 53.5도의 묵직한 기운이 혀를 감싸며 건포도와 다크초콜릿, 가죽과 정향이 번진다. 삼키면 옛 시절 셰리의 깊은 단맛과 오크 탄닌이 길고 진중하게 따라온다.

more mangos than on a mango tree, otherwise tangerines and myriads of tinier aromas. Incredible nose (pipe smoke, oranges, woodruff, maracuja, honeysuckle, fudge, hibiscus, roses, pink grapefruits, old Sauternes, mushrooms, chocolate, coffee, plums, stewed rhubarb, basil, black nougat, peanut butter, peaches, litchis…) Oh boy oh boy…
