셰리 캐스크에서 열여덟 해를 보낸 1979년 맥캘란 그란 레세르바의 시간이 진한 건과일과 향신료로 깊게 펼쳐진다. 코에서는 건포도와 무화과, 오렌지 껍질이 겹겹이 오른다. 40도의 부드러운 입안은 셰리의 단맛과 구운 견과, 다크초콜릿이 매끈하게 흐른다. 셰리 명가다운 농축된 과실이 긴 숙성으로 또렷이 배었고, 짙은 마호가니빛 너머 여운은 달콤하고 우아하게 길게 남는다.
