Tasting Notes
잔을 가까이 하면 셰리 우드가 남긴 건포도와 오렌지 마멀레이드, 구운 견과가 명확하게 드러난다. 1976년 빈티지의 맥캘란 18년으로, 셰리 숙성 전성기의 스페이사이드 캐릭터가 또렷하게 살아 있다. 팰럿은 43도의 낮은 도수에도 풍부하게 열리며 진한 토피와 말린 과일, 가죽 향이 균형 있게 발전한다. 피니시는 향신료와 마른 과일이 길게 이어지며, 과한 무게 없이 셰리와 오크의 구조가 단단하게 맞물린다.

full gold (just the same as the 18yo)
air Nose
starts much more on crystallised oranges, apricot jam, cooked strawberries and, again, grenadine. The mashy/yoghurty notes come through after a moment but they are much shyer than in the 18yo. The whole is denser and rounder but also quite simpler than the latter. Hints of slightly burnt apricot pie
restaurant Palate
certainly a better body than the 18 even if the profile is more or less the same. A little more oomph and a little more complexity this time, with more praline, honey-coated nuts, nougat and crème brûlée. Also a little ginger
timer Finish
not too long but more satisfying than the 18yo’s, mostly on candy sugar and caramel again. Not complex but pleasant. 79 points. MUSIC – Recommended listening: you couldn't escape the Dexy's midnight runners twenty years ago and then there's been Save Ferris doing the very same Come on Eileen.mp3 . I must admit I like it...
