Tasting Notes
스페이사이드의 비옥한 구릉지대가 맥캘란 특유의 우아한 과실미를 길러낸다. 1973년 증류해 18년을 보낸 이 위스키는 짙은 호박빛을 띠며, 코에는 말린 무화과와 오렌지 껍질, 묵은 셰리의 단내가 깊게 어우러진다. 43도의 입안에는 건포도와 다크초콜릿, 가벼운 정향이 부드럽게 풀려 오랜 숙성의 무게를 전한다. 여운은 견과와 가죽 향이 길게 이어지며 옛 스페이사이드의 품격을 고스란히 보여준다.

joking aside, this is a great nose, delicately metallic and smoky at first, then roasted and fruity, with some cereals, maple syrup, roasted raisins, and some kind of smoky muesli. too bad it's a little too dry, too much on black tea, tobacco, bitter chocolate, toffee… Now it remains very good, with jams chiming in, marmalades, herbal teas… Oranges keep lifting it, a phenomenon that's also to be seen at Dalmore's. Oranges rule!
