Tasting Notes
잔을 기울이면 52년 세월이 응축된 짙은 마호가니빛이 잔벽을 따라 천천히 흐른다. 코끝에 가져가면 셰리 우드가 빚은 말린 무화과와 오래된 가죽, 흑설탕의 깊은 향이 피어오른다. 한 모금을 머금으면 40도라는 낮은 도수가 무색하게 졸인 건포도와 오크의 풍미가 혀를 채운다. 혀 가운데서는 정향과 묵은 원목의 쌉쌀함이 번진다. 천천히 삼키면 반세기를 넘긴 맥캘란다운 묵직한 단맛과 은은한 향신료가 길게 이어진다.

clearly something old-school Macallan, with a rather perfect sherry indeed, many roasted nuts, rather rose and jasmine this time, dark honeys, dried figs and dates, blueberry muffins, a fresh box of cigars, a little parsley and mint, some black earth (potting soil) and peanut butter… This really is an awesome nose, despite the strength. But low strengths rather feel on your palate…
restaurant Palate
not as 'peacocky' on the palate, but this was to be expected. Once again the wood feels a little bit, with more black tea and pepper, while the distillate would try to shoot dried fruits, marmalade and roasted nuts. Sadly, it remains a little weak and thin, which I find frustrating. Why 40% vol.!

shortish, nuttier. Walnut cake and marmalade in the even shorter aftertaste
