맑은 화이트 와인빛이 잔 속에 투명하게 어린다. 1989년에 병입된 옛 매캘란 12년으로, 코에는 젊은 스페이사이드다운 사과즙과 배즙, 옅은 맥주와 나무 연기, 생강 토닉의 향이 산뜻하게 올라온다. 43도의 입에서는 단순하지만 깔끔하고 과일 중심의 자연스러운 맛이 흐르며, 옅은 풍선껌 같은 뉘앙스가 살짝 감돈다. 지금의 셰리 중심 매캘란과 달리 캐스크 간섭이 적어 원액 본연의 맑은 과실이 돋보인다. 화려함보다 정직한 과실감이 이 옛 보틀링의 매력이고, 여운은 오렌지와 생강이 중간 길이로 이어지며 산뜻하게 마무리된다.
