almost closed, except a few grassy notes (okay, and whiffs of peat smoke). Water needed I guess. When watered down, it gains even more purity as well as very pleasant notes of smoked tea and pu-erh as well. Whiffs of cow stable. It seems that Caol Ila got peatier in recent years, or am I mistaken?

restaurant Palate

wow, great! Big sweetness (liquorice allsorts) and a tamed smokiness, it’s almost gentle at 57%. Or is it me? Perfect profile but let’s add water again… notes of tobacco, liquorice, quite some salt. Excellent selection by Mrs Arthur
