잔을 가볍게 흔들면 옅은 황금빛이 잔벽을 타고 천천히 흘러내린다. 잔을 코끝에 가져가면 1974년산 카올 일라 특유의 부드러워진 피트 훈연과 짠 바다 향이 가장 먼저 올라온다. 한 모금을 머금으면 55.7도의 알코올이 입을 데우며 32년이 다듬은 미네랄과 시트러스의 노트가 묵직하게 흐른다. 천천히 삼키면 아일라 호그스헤드가 새긴 매캐한 잔향이 입에 길게 남는다.
