잔을 코앞에서 흔들면 1974년 증류된 카올 일라가 옅은 볏짚빛을 잔 벽에 흘린다. 향을 들이마시면 오래된 아일라다운 차분한 연기와 바다의 짠 내음, 레몬과 올리브 오일이 겹쳐 올라온다. 한 모금을 혀에 올리면 22년이 다듬은 부드러운 피트가 입을 감싸고 미네랄과 약초의 기운이 번진다. 삼킨 뒤에는 잘 익은 훈연이 짭조름한 여운과 함께 입안에 오래 머문다.
