Tasting Notes
북동 하이랜드 피터헤드 해안에 섰던 글렌유기는 사라진 증류소로, 1966년의 풍토를 간직한 희귀한 몰트다. 1966년에 증류해 15년을 보낸 이 위스키는 깊은 황금빛을 띤다. 향에서는 잘 익은 사과와 꿀, 묵은 오크의 왁스 같은 뉘앙스가 또렷이 깃들고 옅은 허브가 더해진다. 40도의 입안에서는 보리 단맛과 시트러스, 옅은 향신료가 부드럽게 흐른다. 중간에는 멜론과 잘 익은 배의 부드러운 과즙이 둥글게 퍼지며 옅은 향신료가 받쳐 준다. 오래 묵은 과수원 과일과 오크의 여운이 길고 온화하게 남는다.

sure it’s no big whisky at 40% and after thirty years in glass but the combination of fresh tropical fruits with shoe polish and iron works beautifully, epitomical Old Bottle Effect in motion. Pineapples and passion fruits, old books, metal polish, grapefruits, honey, Barbour grease, milk chocolate, green tea… All that is complex and much thrilling to follow despite the low strength. Maybe a little more a wine than a spirit in a certain way, let’s see…

right, it’s pretty tired, cardboardy, chalky and dry. The fruits are still glowing in the distant background but they’re more echoes of fruits, so to speak

gains power again (just a bit) but it’s still a shadow of its (probable) former self
