버번 캐스크에서 4년이라는 짧은 숙성이 시즈오카 2018의 강렬한 인상을 또렷이 드러낸다. 일본 시즈오카 증류소가 64.3도라는 강한 도수로 프라이빗 캐스크 보틀링을 골라낸 이 잔은 향에서 바닐라 시럽과 시트러스, 신선한 곡물이 함께 비친다. 입에서는 헤더 꿀과 새 오크의 톡 쏘는 단맛이 두꺼운 질감으로 흐르고 가벼운 후추가 뒤따른다. 색은 옅은 밀짚, 여운은 매콤한 향신료로 길게 이어진다.

amazing despite the strong, err, strength. Someone's smoked lemon zests. With water: jaw dropping raw smoke and tar, bitter zests, seawater, 'eating an ashtray', the bitterest liquorice, burnt BBQ herbs…
