less clean and certainly more porridgy/beer-ish than the 1993. More wet paper, vegetables, wool and ginger, getting quite cardboardy. Not one of the best Caol Ilas I’ve ever tried - so far

better than on the nose but the sweetish notes (grenadine, strawberry syrup) do not go well with Caol Ila in my opinion, they kind of fight the ‘peatiness’ (in every sense of the word). A bitter/sour/sweet Caol Ila
timer Finish
rather long, with the salt kicking in. Nicer than at the attack
