버번 캐스크에서 29년을 보낸 1981년 록사이드는 베리 브로스 앤 러드 보틀링으로 폐쇄된 동부 하이랜드 증류소의 깔끔한 마지막을 들려준다. 잔을 가까이 하면 잘 익은 살구, 노란 꽃, 가벼운 시트러스가 부드럽게 오른다. 한 모금 머금으면 꿀, 코코넛, 옅은 향신료가 56.5퍼센트 도수에 실려 입천장을 부드럽게 덮는다. 깊은 황금빛 컬러로 사라진 록사이드 증류소의 우아한 여운이 또렷이 남아 있다.

as fresh, clean and fruity as these Lochsides can be, although I wouldn’t say this one is as much a fruitbomb as some other versions. It’s still a tad mashy despite its 28 years of age but the rest is superb, with quite some tangerines, apples, hints of Muscat grapes and quite some vanilla. It might need water to unfold more than that. With water: ah yes, that worked. Litres of lemon and lime juice, grapefruit and something a little metallic that adds an extra-dimension. ‘Aluminium pan’. Quite some menthol too
restaurant Palate
very punchy and much fruitier than on the nose. Grapefruit juice at cask strength, now typically Lochside. Passion fruits, lemon... With water: more of the same plus a little grass, chlorophyll gum, spearmint…

long but more on grass and chlorophyll and less on lemon and other citrus fruits
