Tasting Notes
노즈에서는 31년 숙성한 1979년 쿨일라의 잔잔해진 피트 연기와 레몬, 바닷내음이 가장 먼저 두드러진다. 57.9도의 높은 도수에도 입에서는 오랜 숙성이 다듬은 부드러운 훈연과 올리브 오일 같은 질감, 시트러스가 또렷하게 발전한다. 긴 세월 덕에 어린 쿨일라의 날카로움이 사라지고 미네랄과 왁스 같은 결이 깊게 깔린다. 아일라 몰트의 해양성 캐릭터가 노숙으로 한층 정제되어 있다. 물을 더하면 미네랄과 시트러스가 한결 또렷하게 드러난다. 피니시는 은은한 재와 소금기가 길게 이어지는, 성숙한 아일라의 본보기다.

a rather bitter, rubbery and milky start, on huge notes of crushed leaves, raw propolis, manure and rubber bands. Gets then very milky and porridgy, with also quite some cheap perfume (yes, lavender). Immature and hard to enjoy on the nose, I’m afraid
restaurant Palate
ah, this is a little better although it’s still bitter and rubbery at the attack, as well as very mashy. We do have these perfumy notes as well (lavender). Develops on pineapple sweets, crystallised oranges, notes of tequila… Well… Rather long but cardboardy (and waxy) finish, with also something like ginger tonic and heavily hopped beer.
