Tasting Notes
잔을 천천히 기울이면 맑은 황금빛이 안에서 가볍게 일렁인다. 코를 가져가면 1979년 카올 일라다운 기름진 훈연과 레몬, 바다 소금이 함께 솟아오른다. 잔을 다시 흔들면 조개껍질 같은 미네랄과 옅은 풀향이 더해진다. 한 모금 삼키면 60.9도의 강한 도수가 혀를 휘감고 그을린 연기와 시트러스, 후추가 번진다. 25년이 거친 피트를 매끄럽게 다듬어 두었다. 삼킨 뒤에는 짭조름한 연기와 레몬의 산뜻함이 혀 안쪽에 오래 타오른다.

air Nose
starts yeastier and farmier than usual, with quite some hot milk and some herbal notes (dill). Gets a little resinous and quite ‘vanilled’… Rather complex in fact, a nice expression of Balvenie without the usual sweetness and roundness
restaurant Palate
rather nervous, with lots of vanilla (should I add ‘of course’?) and liquorice, going on with some cooked green vegetables and quite some caramel. A style on its own! Some interesting notes of white rum (ti-punch) and a rather long finish, just slightly too drying. Anyway, I like this one quite a lot. 86 points .
