잔을 가까이 하면 셰리 옥타브 피니시에서 비롯된 진한 건과일과 가벼운 향신료가 명확하게 드러난다. 던컨 테일러가 2012년에 27년산 51.1도 The Octave로 병입한 이 Cardhu 1984는 짧은 옥타브 마무리가 만든 농축된 인상이 또렷이 발현된다. 팰럿에서는 건포도, 다크 초콜릿, 정향이 차례로 발전한다. 피니시는 셰리의 단맛과 마른 오크가 단정하게 이어진다.
