발모럴 성 가까이 디 강가에 자리한 로열 로크나가는 왕실의 사랑을 받은 작은 하이랜드 증류소다. 10년을 보낸 이 매니저스 드램은 짙은 금빛을 띠고, 말린 과일과 꿀, 보리의 고소한 향이 풍성하게 올라온다. 입에 머금으면 57.2도의 힘과 함께 건포도와 토피, 향신료가 두꺼운 질감으로 흐른다. 왕실 증류소다운 묵직하고 단정한 개성이 또렷하며, 여운은 흑설탕과 오크로 길게 이어진다.

quintessential Lochnagar, packed with polish and old papers, but also orange zest and grilled polenta. One can’t help but applaud this refreshingly ‘different’ character. With water: a return of the medicinal notes (a mix of various pills) and even a touch of Fanta
restaurant Palate
superbly different indeed. Peppery lemon, slightly industrial oils, grass juice, polish, green walnuts, Chinese mushrooms (those large black ones), pipe tobacco, mead, with a certain lightly mouldy note that’s not unpleasant at all, and even a few feints. With water: this unleashes the citrus, which is splendid. The whole becomes much livelier and fruitier, also ‘cleaner’. Oranges, as well as apples and yellow peaches
