노즈에서는 오반의 짠 해변 미네랄과 리필 유러피언 오크 부트에서 온 잘 익은 과일, 옅은 가죽의 향이 가장 먼저 두드러진다. 팰럿으로 옮겨가면 꿀, 옅은 후추, 구운 곡물이 명확하게 드러나며 55.1% ABV의 캐스크 스트렝스가 단단한 구조감을 잡아준다. 피니시는 길고 미네랄과 오크 탄닌이 잔잔하게 발전한다. 산미와 단맛의 비율이 단단하게 잡혀 있어 분석적 접근에서 만족도가 높다. 1999년 빈티지 오반 22년 숙성된 디스틸러리 캐스크 오브 디스팅션 보틀링에서 웨스턴 하이랜드 코스탈 몰트의 깊이가 또렷하다.
