Tasting Notes
노즈를 열면 잘 정제된 피트 연기와 레몬, 바다 소금의 짭조름함이 또렷이 잡힌다. 30년 장기 숙성을 거친 아일라 몰트답게 거친 기운은 가라앉고, 버번 호그스헤드가 남긴 바닐라와 시트러스가 균형을 단단하게 잡는다. 60.1도의 높은 도수에도 입안 질감은 매끄럽고 훈연과 왁스 같은 기름진 풍미가 또렷하게 이어진다. 피니시는 은은한 재와 해조의 미네랄, 그리고 가벼운 후추 향이 길게 발전한다. 카올 아일라의 절제된 피트 캐릭터를 원숙하게 보여주는 보틀링이다.

I think it’s the first time I find no peat in an unpeated Caol Ila. Having said that I find quite some varnish and even nail polish, then the expected lemons and a lot of grass. Really a lot of grass. Also touches of vanilla but the whole is sharper than the sharpest young peated Caol Ilas. So far… With water: whelks and kiwis. I’m serious

again, no peat that I can find this time. Green apples, custard, fructose, marshmallows and, again and again, a lot of lemon. With water: becomes sweeter, not quite banana-sweet but quite. A little hazelnut liqueur, perhaps, then more green tea, which makes it rather dry

long, grassy. Green tea with a chunk of lemon. No milk, thanks
