일본 나가노 고지대 1000미터에 자리한 마르스 신슈 증류소는 알프스 같은 청량한 공기 속에서 위스키를 익힌다. 아메리칸 화이트 오크 버번 배럴이 입힌 옅은 황금빛이 잔에 감돌고, 코에는 잘 익은 배와 꿀, 바닐라와 풀잎이 맑게 솟는다. 50도의 또렷한 입안에서는 시트러스와 토피, 가벼운 향신료가 단정하게 흐른다. 고지대 숙성이 빚은 여운은 산뜻한 과실과 오크를 깔끔하게 남긴다.
